Rich and Bonnie\'s Pond

We finally got some much needed rain here in NC after 6 weeks of no rain. So the pond is murky looking right now until everything settles back down.

This is our 15,000 gallon pond that consists of 3 ponds, 6 major waterfalls. We designed the pond so that the 3 ponds can run together or separately.

Some of the highlights of the fish you will see while watching the camera are the biggest fish; a Hi Utsuri (red and black) is Blaze. She is the leader in my pond. Blaze is 26".

Utsee is a Shiro Utsuri and is black and white. She is about 24 inches and is the only fish that Rich has bought for the pond.

Sunny, is a Yambuchi (yellow) butterfly and she is the first fish I ever bought and I have had her about 8 years. Sunny is about 26 inches long also.

There are 2 Doitsu Showa, Flash and Patches, one male and one female that are 18 inches each. A sweet little male Showa, about 14 inches called Suda after the Japanese breeder.

Cleopatra is a Platinium Doitsu (white scale-less and is about 20 inches long. She won 1st place at the show last year at the Koi show. There is also a white-scaled fish that I never got around to naming. Not sure of the sex but it about 15 inches long.

Zorro is the sexy black male butterfly in the pond. I have a waiting list of 10 folks who want a fish just like him. He is a little hard to see because he is all black and sometimes looks lie a shadow swimming in the pond

And of course there is Lucky whose life I saved when he got sucked into a pump a few years ago. His back was broken in 2 place so if you see a 15-inch yellow butterfly swimming a little crooked, meet Lucky. He did make some pretty babies this past spring though.

There are about 30 larger fish, 18 inches to 28 inches in the pond. There are some fry, about 15 of them that were hatched this spring that I am going to let grow another year.

We have added underwater lights to the pond so viewing at night is possible if the fish are near the camera. The light comes on at dark and goes off at 9:00 p.m. EST. The best viewing time of course is during the day light hours EST because that is when the fish are most active. Please take a minute and sign our guest book and rate our camera.

Thanks for stopping by.

I've watched other webcams before & they seldom produce much activity. Not yours! It is almost constant action. I am bookmarking your page. Your fish are gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing.

Just amazing!!! We sat and watched your fish swim like we sit and watch our own swim, except yours we are watching from a side view!! My kids asked why we don't have a camera like that, maybe some day we will!!
