Current Camera Settings:Camera takes a picture and uploads it to the server roughly every 1-5 seconds.
This is not an attempt at live (streaming) feed, as I know my camera is a piece of junk and my services lag.
Things I point the camera at and why:
1.) My desktop / keyboard and mouse. I'll point the camera at my keboard / mouse at times I don't want to show my face. This way, if you see my hands you will know that I am at my computer, if my hands aren't on the console then I am currently "Away". If my hands look blurry then its probably because I'm drumming on my desktop.
2.) My face. If I point the camera at my face but all you see is my cluttered work bench (where I build / repair computers) in the background then I am away, otherwise you will get glimpses of my ugly mug. If my head looks blurry then its probably because I'm headbanging to a really good song.
3.) My moniter. Sometimes I'll set the camera down in front of me partially resting on the keyboard so you get a clear view of my moniter. I'll do this mostly when I'm playing a video game or if I'm away. Sometimes I'll put something on to amuse you like a screensaver or WinAmp visualization or something.
4.) My roomates. I share this computer room with two friends and sometimes I'll point the camera at them (if they are here) just for fun. I've pointed the camera at Travis while he draws a tattoo for someone because its interesting to see his picture develop in almost real time on the web. I wonder if I could make money off of that???
It may happen sometimes when we have some special event going on at the house like a party or whatever. If there is an event occuring here there is a good chance that I will try to get the camera positioned on the action and I'll flip it on. This way you can still feel like a small part of the event even if you are unable to attend. If I am aware of a planned event it is possible that I will plan to load up the camera in which case I will probably post a bulletin about it in the forum or on the news page to give you a "heads-up".
