Welcome to my aqurium

I bought my first crystal red shrimps about 2 years ago. Meanwhile they formed a big population, which i really like to look at on my desk. Also many of my friends got from those shrimps and have their own, little population now. The crystal red is a really amusing little pet, which is always busy in gathering food (from stones, wood, leafs aso.) so every aqarian should have some :-).

Btw. This is a 54 L aquarium with about 150 shrimps. you are looking into near the front left corner. i put the cam very near, so dont wonder that you only see 10*10 cm of the whole aquarium. but i think this ist interesting enough ;-)

PS: for all non-aquarians: when you see namy snakes i just feeded. they are 3 deys hided in the sand but ehwn i feed the 4th day the come yout in 1 minute. after abou 5 hours the wholy cover the food but the shrimps dont care and pick up their meal through every hole they see ;-)

edit june, 21th: this morning i came into the living room and saw snakes, snakes, snakes... they all crawled up the glasses (pointing upwards to get air) and many dead shrimps where laying on the sand. what happened?! yesterday i feeded 4 pellets spirulina but since 2 days it's very hot here. i guess, the water-chemistry got disturbed because the heat, the food and because it's hot Oxygen is also not very good soluable. so what to do? i IMMEDIATELY (it was 7:30 and i just got up ;-)) made a double water change (twice 70%) and put a bubbler in. after letting them get healthy for 4 hours (they already gathered again) i took out all plants and picked up the dead corpses because they're absolutely toxic. it was about 20 animals and only the biggest and most beautyful :-( :-(. so the chance was taken and the windows and reflector of the bulb cleaned and the plants were now placed a bit more in the background. the bubbler is now fixed part of the whole thing and will run 24h when its hot and the night (because of plants CO2 production) all the other time. i never want to have such a happening again.

so that's the news. don't wonder if you dont see them so frequently for a few days because they're all shy, now (what would you do if a big hand takes out all plants and let you only a rectangular tank with dead comrades and slurry water ;-)). at the moment they slowly become red again (blur beans stress, colourful means comfortable) and pierce out of their hidings to gather food more and more. i'm hopeful to get it as good running as before the "supergau" :-). population is guessed 70 to 80 now, because i gave some away, before today.

edit2 (same day): 3 more dead :-( . just added a "seemandelbaumblatt" (free translation: sea almond tree leaf) which is a bit antibacterial. i dont want to get them ill now because of the bad water and many dead ones. i hope those 3 were the last ones because since i got them one dead in a few weeks was all and those only have been the very old ones...
